HOW TO | KNIT
Knitting is hard when you’ve known how to crochet for only a short amount of time. I taught myself crochet 3 years ago and couldn’t be more proud of my new found hobby. I truly admire some of the things I’ve been able to create through crochet but there is something about knit that I find to be so beautiful. I’ve certainly been intimated to start because not only was I so comfortable with crochet, but just reading some of the knit patterns is almost like reading a foreign language! I’ve tried knitting once or twice before, okay maybe even three times. Who hasn’t!? Anyway, I went out and bought some proper sized needles that felt comfortable and started learning the pattern of a turban headband that I just absolutely had to own! I can’t count the number of times I cast on, knit, then purl for a few (like two) rows only to unravel it because I obviously goofed on something. Eventually, I got upset, and I would make myself put the needles down and walk away. I let it go for about a week and without any yarn and needles in front of me I looked up some tutorials and actually watched them. I was learning something without the distraction of it being accessible to my fingers. After that week I tried again last night while I dramatically watched finale of The Bachelor ¯\_(ツ)_/ and I got somewhere!
There is yarn flowing from my foundation! It’s beautiful! It looks like nothing! I am freaking determined to make this headband though. Be on the lookout!
