I’ve reached another exciting milestone in pregnancy - feeling those first movements! A few days before I initially knew it was for sure, I felt rather gassy. The kind of gas that makes your belly gurgle and fizz without the upset stomach, gotta run to the toilet feeling. I was 19 weeks and 3 days in when I was laying down and getting relaxed for bed. My belly had that bubbly feeling again but It had felt like just a few bubbles were being popped. Almost like a strong, involuntary muscle spasm. Pronounced yet subtle. I could count each time it happened that night and I was just so amazed. That was the baby! As the days have gone by I’ve been able to tell when I feel her kicks and punches without having to actually think about it. It gives my heart such a twirl of emotions. I’ve enjoyed feeling these flutters so much I’ve even googled, “is shaking my belly to make my baby move bad?” I love the feeling! I must feel it at ALL times. But then I realized, this baby chick needs to sleep sometimes too… I feel she’s most active after I eat and when I am laying down at night. She’s so low near my pubic region that I can actually see the little pumps of force showing through my skin when I lay down. It’s almost like there’s an alien in there! My sweet alien babe. I’m so in love already.
