We’ve welcomed the New Year with a 4 month old! I didn’t get a chance to post on the new year but the months leading up to it were far and beyond everything I could have ever imagined. Ringing in 2014 pregnant was the best thing that could have ever happened to me and giving birth to Zoey tops it!
We actually had her 4 month well-check a bit early. She was still considered 15 weeks during her appointment but she is growing on track beautifully if not “off the charts” as the Doctor stated but in a good way. She’s above 99th percentile range in all of her measurements. Max and I are large people so its no surprise that she’s a growing weed as well. I’m just tired of everyone calling her too big, chubby, and fat… she’s luscious and beautiful!

AGE// 4 months {17 weeks on this post}
WEIGHT// 17 pounds
LENGTH// 25 and 1/2 inches long
HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE// 42cm
SIZE// I’m having major Sad Face issues. I had to put away basically ALL of her clothes in her dresser and upsize to 6-9 month. She is also in size 3 diapers now. I was getting quite a few leaks in size 2 so I (in denial as usual) made the switch to a bigger size wahhhh!!
EYES// Hazel is still winning. Her eyes are brown, almost golden in the middle but have a dark grey/blue ring around it.
HAIR// Sparse. lol. I had to scrape and brush the cradle cap out which took some hair along with it too.
SLEEPING// 4 month sleep regression is real people! Z used to sleep through the night, leaving her so-called middle of the night feeding at 5am. She now wakes about 3 times to eat and chatters her way up in the morning before 7am. We have still yet to put her in the crib. Having her in the Rock and Play is more of a benefit to me. I don’t have to get up and walk to the other room to feed her so we’re still holding off on the crib.
EATING// Still exclusively breast feeding. She only eats about 5 to 6 times a day and she is very quick so I hardly feel like I ever have to feed her. I’ve gotten so much pressure to start her on solids. I’ve honestly wanted to wait until 6 months. I want my baby to be a baby for as long as possible! I’ve made the step and purchased some cereal for her but haven’t gotten the bowls and spoons out just yet.
MILESTONES// Zoey has found her feet! She grabs them any chance she can get when they seem to be in reach. She is fully grasping on to toys and bringing them up to her mouth. Lots of drools pools out of her bubblelicious lips but she no longer spits up like she used to! She can now stay in ONE outfit for then entire day without soaking it with puke!
MEMORABLE OUTINGS// Last month we took Zoey with us on a date. Her first restaurant! We went to Grill from Ipanema and she did such a great job. I ended up holding her half way through but no melt downs occurred.
LOVES// Her fingers - they are never not in her mouth. She also loves this stuffed, crinkly caterpillar. She loves to be held to sit and stand. And she loves her voice!

HATES// Laying down? She’s constantly doing baby crunches. She wants to be up and to see the world around her. Tummy time is still not looking good over here. She has yet to roll over. I’m not too concerned as she has great control over her neck muscles but I would like her to get in the habit of holding her weight with her arms so she can learn to crawl.
WORDS:SOUNDS// Does blowing bubbles count? Her nickname is Bubbas for a reason I guess! She screeches and giggles and its the best noise ever. No words yet of course.
NICKNAMES// Bubs, Bubbas, and Tooties.
FUNNY MOMENTS// I managed to get this one on video. Zoey went on a rage with her bouncy chair danglies. She’s done this a few times and I wonder what in the world she is thinking about! She just BELTS as loud as she can. A few giggles slash whines get mixed in with it. Her emotions get the best of her.
