SUMMER GETAWAY | REVETT LAKE, ID

30 weeks pregnant and Max and I decided to start off this week with a little camping trip! We had originally planned to head over to Missoula just for kicks but will probably do that next week since I'll actually have a three day weekend.

Max wanted to get an overnight trip in to test out his new hammock and sleeping bag soooo bad so we decided to try out a new hike to Revvet Lake which was about an hour and forty-five minute drive away. The hike wasn't too treacherous, actually very beautiful and calming. It was 2 miles long filled with water falls and some snowy pathways. Even though the weather was great and it was the last day of June, it was a definitely chilly up in those mountains. This lake was so similar to our favorite Crystal Lake without the painful drive and steep hike so it was well worth trying out. I even got to test out my GoGirl! It literally felt like I was pissing with a little wee - not that I would know what that feels like but I'm assuming its what they were going for! Beats squatting down with a preggo belly.

Of course Max effortlessly caught a fish. It would’ve been nice to snack on but he was a teeny thing and it took us quite awhile to get the fire started because of the rains from the days before. It was amazing how quickly time went by. It was 11 o’clock before we knew it and I was ready to hit the sack. I managed to stay pretty warm and even comfortable on Max’s sleeping pad since he would be sleeping in his hammock. That didn’t last long - he came back into the tent later that night with me haha, I knew that would happen!

We woke up late the next morning, heated up breakfast, and slowly started getting ready to pack out. The hike back is always so much faster than getting there, duh. I was almost sad that it ended so soon but I was also ready to get home. I’ve never really had sinus allergies this bad until this year and its quite the annoyance, especially being out in the woods.

It was a wonderful getaway with my favorite guy. It was just the two of us with our little pumpkin there in spirit as well! She’s a great hiking partner, I hope she was comfortable in there! Soon we’ll be packing her up in real life and she’ll be strapped to one of our backs rather than inside of my belly ;)
